Bering Straits Regional Housing Authority used some of its 1937 act (Mutual Help) funds to purchase and maintain apartment complexes in the Nome area. These subsidized units provide low-income rentals to qualified applicants.
BSRHA currently manages 5 buildings (a total of 28 units) across the Nome area.
Guidelines for eligibility:

Low Income (80% of the AMI for the Nome Census Area)

Alaskan Native or American Indian

Clean criminal background (no history of assault, domestic violence, etc.)

Clean Credit History (no outstanding balances due to other landlords, etc.)
Nome Low Rent (Project 42)
